If you are just starting out in the world of sonar – maybe you just bought a new boat and are starting to outfit it with the latest tech or are looking to upgrade your current setup – where and how you mount your gear is an important step of the process. The Accuphy PingLive Sonar system connects seamlessly to your iPad - so, where should you mount your tablet? Are you looking for the security of a bolt-on mount? Or the freedom of a suction mount?
The Accuphy PingLive Sonar system has the flexibility to work with you and your unique needs and there are plenty of mounting solutions and options to fit your desired mounting setup.
Here’s what the Accuphy team came up with, and some tips to avoid spending more than you need to!

For our dash mount setup, we have a Ram Mount plate with their size B ball joint. Attached, we went in the same Ram Mount family – the Tab Tite holder with size B extension arm. Altogether, it is a versatile mounting option that is not going to take up a ton of your dash space. The size B – their 1” ball joint size – is a great compromise between space and strength.
In the process of mounting our own system, we discovered that the iPad, and most other tablets, are quite a bit lighter than the traditional sonar system display. This affords much more versatility and options when it comes time to pick a mount setup. The 1” size B ball joint from Ram Mounts has a solid hold without being clunky taking up too much space on the boat. Vibration and rattle is minimal with this bolt-on setup, and the Ram Mount Tab-Tite spring-loaded holder has deep pockets on both sides for a secure hold on your tablet. Wide enough to fit a heavy-duty case!

We also set up a mount on the bow of the boat to add some freedom when it comes to fishing location. We know most of you will be using this up front on the bow of your bass boats, so we wanted to emulate real-world applications as often as possible. We have a similar setup, however we went ahead and used the Ram Mount Flat Surface mount with size B ball joints once again. We’ve found the B size to be that perfect middle ground – a secure lock without breaking the bank.
Finding a mounting solution that is right for you can be an exhausting task. There are hundreds of options from just as many manufacturers. To make your life just a bit easier, take a look at the list below for some possible options from Ram Mounts for your Tablet.
